Easter: Police deploy operatives across Rivers

To ensure increased security during the Easter celebrations, the Rivers State Police Command has issued guidelines for the deployment of officers around the state.

The state police commissioner, Olatunji Disu, reportedly gave all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers instructions to deploy officers and allocate resources to important locations, such as churches, parks, event centers, and major entry and exit points in the state, according to a statement made by the Command’s public relations officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko.

The statement stressed that officers assigned to highway stations have been charged with upholding a high standard of professionalism and alertness in the course of their work.

Additionally, the CP wished Rivers State’s citizens a happy Easter, especially the Christians, and asked them to pray for peace and protection from God.

The Command also issued advisories to religious and traditional leaders, as well as parents and guardians, to counsel their followers and children against engaging in any form of unlawful activities during the celebrations.

To facilitate effective communication with law enforcement agencies, the Command advised the public to utilize the emergency call lines: 08161355218, WhatsApp: 080671667605, and Control Room: 08098880134.
