Akwa Ibom: Police deploy 2,313 operatives for Easter

Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police (CP) of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, has sent approximately 2,313 officers to key areas throughout the state in preparation for the Easter holiday.

The places are automobile parks, amusement parks, and places of worship.

Ayilara expressed her congratulations to the Christian community and the Akwa Ibom State Government on the occasion of the 2024 Easter Celebration in a statement released on Friday by CSP Odiko Macdon, the spokesperson for the Command.

The CP promised sufficient security for the festivities but cautioned criminal elements to avoid the state or risk facing the full force of the law if they were caught.

“The CP, while thanking God for the prevailing peace in the State, congratulated the Government of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for the developmental strides.

“He particularly prayed for the peace and progress of Akwa Ibom State and called on the good People of the State to remain steadfast in the pursuit of peace, unity and progress of the State.

“The CP is clear on the evil machinations of criminal elements. He has reminded them to leave the State as there will be no hiding place for them,” parts of the statement said.
